PB4L At Highlands Intermediate we are actively involved in a programme called PB4L PB4L is Positive Behaviour for Learning. It is a programme that creates and strengthens positive culture across the school, in the classroom and in the playground. It is a programme that is for students, staff and the whole school community.

PB4L School-Wide looks at behaviour and learning from a whole-of-school, as well as an individual child perspective. The framework is based on international evidence.

It is about building a culture where positive behaviour and learning is a way of life. The framework is tailored to suit our school’s own environment and cultural needs.

PB4L is not about changing the students, it’s about changing the environment, systems and practices we have in place to support these students. This is done in order to ensure they can make positive behavioural choices. We know that these changes won’t happen overnight, as the programme can take 5-8 years to complete.

We are well on our PB4L journey, our RAWE system encourages our students to strive for excellence in everything they do. It incorporates positive RAWE vouchers for demonstrating our three school values (Respect, Responsibility and Leadership). These RAWE vouchers collate to achieve school badges- students then participate in RAWE Reward Days. We encourage you to engage in a discussion with your child around the RAWE way.
